Frank & Söhne AG

We are never left out in the cold

Frank & Söhne AG is one of the leading specialist printers in Germany for textile decoration, 3-dimensional technical components, promotional items and similar objects of all shapes and materials. The medium-sized family business was founded around 1975 and is now run by the 2nd generation. Today, with around 40 employees, the company is one of the best-known companies of its kind and finishes products from well-known manufacturers, importers and wholesalers, primarily from the pharmaceutical/medical, promotional products and cosmetics sectors.

Back in 2014, we decided to purchase a digital printing machine for printing textiles, as demand was already relatively high at that time. We wanted to use this still quite new technology to strengthen the loyalty of a major customer, and from today’s perspective we have succeeded very well. The choice of an aeoon Kyo8 was made after a series of quality tests and a comparison with the then market leader Kornit. However, in all quality and price-related features, Aeoon was able to outperform Kornit’s machines, in some cases by a considerable margin, which is why we very quickly decided in favour of aeoon, not least because of the simpler German communication.

Since then, the machine has been running smoothly and reliably with the exception of a major overhaul in 2022. The overhaul was necessary after more than 8 years of operation without any major maintenance work and now brought the machine back to a state of the art. Many thanks to the aeoon service team who made the overhaul possible in the first place.

We have always seen ourselves as a pioneer in our industry, which is why we had ourselves certified according to the GOT standard back in 2011. At that time, there were just 5 printing companies in the whole of Germany that were certified according to this standard. The GOTS-approved inks and additives at aeoon gave us an additional advantage and enabled us to stand out from the competition. Since then, we have been printing cotton and cotton blend fabrics digitally more and more often.

All in all, we are very satisfied with the aeoon printer, the service and the contact in general. The Austrian “Schmäh” (= Austrian charm and sense of humor) always creates a very familiar and friendly relationship, for which we are very grateful.

With the 2022 revision, we switched to the Brilliant ink, which is new to us. Compared to the previous inks, we are very convinced of its colour brightness and durability. At the same time, handling has become much easier, especially with regard to environmental conditions. In our opinion, the biggest advantage of this ink is the fact that fine details can be printed even more finely and, above all, consistently over time. Besides the cost advantage compared to the ink before, the change to the new ink system makes us even better and our customers even more satisfied.

We print over 1 million textiles a year, so it goes without saying that sometimes problems will arise. That’s why a good Support system is essential. It has to be fast and efficient to keep downtime at a minimum. In the last 8 years, aeoon’s Support has constantly developed and was able to quickly and easily isolate the problem at any time and also rectify it. Through remote diagnosis, we were also able to quickly solve smaller problems ourselves under the guidance of the Support. aeoon offers an all-round carefree package, so to speak. We are never left out in the cold and we appreciate that very much.

The daily maintenance of the machine is very limited. The staff has been trained and can easily take care of the machine. We at Frank & Söhne AG can unreservedly recommend aeoon and its machines and we are very happy to be part of the aeoon-family!
